The Remedy Room is located at The Iron Gates, Frome. The Iron Gates is a large Georgian Grade II listed building that was built in the early 1700’s and was host to a wealthy family, The Sheppards. The Sheppard family dominated cloth manufacture in Frome, Somerset, England. They were the first to introduce machinery into the area and in the first quarter of the 19th century were the largest employers in Wiltshire.

The Iron Gates building is a quintessential piece of Frome’s industrial and architectural heritage, standing as a testament to the town’s storied past in metalworking and commerce. Located on King Street, this Grade II listed structure dates back to the late 19th century, though its site has been a hub of activity for much longer.

The building is most famously associated with Cockey’s Foundry, a prominent local firm established by the Cockey family. During the Victorian era, the foundry was renowned for its high-quality ironwork, producing everything from ornate gas lamps to the very "Iron Gates" that gave the building its name. These intricate gates were more than just a functional entrance; they served as a permanent advertisement for the exquisite craftsmanship available within.
