It is so very important to keep your wicks trimmed before lighting and always extinguish your candle if the flames grow too high. The candle wicks should always be central to the jar, moving the wicks too close to the sides can cause the glass to combust under heat pressure in extreme cases. It is therefore important to always be watching over your candle when lit and keep it on a flat, heatsafe surface.

If when lit your candle seems to be too hot, extinguish the wicks and recentralise when it is safe to do so.

Never light your candle when your wicks are shorter than 1/4 inch, at this point it would be safer to dispose of your candle jar or scoop out any remaining wax to use as a wax melt.
