Throughout the ages, cauldrons have been used at the hearth and home in many shapes and forms. The cauldron would be set above the flames of the homestead fire and heated to provide sustenance and fresh water to the families they belonged to. As food became a rite of healing, the simmer pot became useful for blending botanicals that were locally harvested to create healing broths. Over time, the broths were also used to perform spiritual and magical rites including the creation of flying ointments.

The cauldron, once seen as a cooking pot, was revolutionized through modern day witchcraft and heathen magic, then popularized by movie artistry to become a leading symbol of the witch.

At The Haunts Curiosity Shoppe we have now created a table top form of cauldron, for your very own magical uses. We are always inspired by the historical cooking pots that are local to us, such as the melting pot in Cornwall - used by a coven to evoke the spirits of the sea and also that of the Mechlin Pot which stands at Lacock Abbey and is inscribed with Latin symbols.

Our cauldron, known as β€˜The Brewing Pot’ is made in cast iron and stands upon a chemist grade tripod base. Beneath The Brewing Pot sits a fired oak candle holder that fits universal tealights. The Brewing Pot is the perfect chamber for our folk elixirs, space aroma teas and incense chips. Simply choose from our collection and add to the cauldron along with your intent and heat using the candle beneath.

Each Brewing Pot has its own individual charm.
